What's Rojak you say? A Rojak is a chilli-dressed salad of vegetables and fruit, found all over Malaysia and Indonesia, and also slang for an eclectic mix.
On the 3rd of September, 6-9pm, join us to experience a spicy ROJAK of music, poetry and food. Hosted by Omar Musa, this world class lineup of word-slingers and artists will present a joyous, flavoursome and thought-provoking evening. American cellist and composer Mariel Roberts is widely recognized not just for her virtuosic performances, but as a “fearless explorer” in her field (Chicago Reader). Her passion for collaboration and experimentation as an interpreter, improvisor, and composer have helped create a body of work which bridges avant-garde, contemporary, classical, improvised, and traditional music.
Will Harris is a London-based writer. He is the author of the poetry books RENDANG (2020) and Brother Poem (2023), both published by Granta in the UK and by Wesleyan University Press in the US. He has been shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and won the Forward Prize for Best First Collection.
Raymond Antrobus is the author of To Sweeten Bitter (2017, Out-Spoken Press), The Perseverance (2018,Penned In The Margins / Tin House) All The Names Given (2021, Picador / Tin House) and the children's picture book Can Bears Ski? (2020, Walkers Books) His next poetry collection, 'Signs, Music' will be published in September 2024 by Picador.
Alex Quicho is the author of Small Gods (Zero Books, 2021) and an associate lecturer in speculative futures at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.
